Jordan retires from FBP with 32 years of service

PIKETON, Ohio -- May 17, 2023 -- From an administrative assistant to a senior contract administrator, Debbie Jordan worked in a variety of roles at the Portsmouth site before retiring May 11 from Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth with 32 years of service.

On May 11, Debbie Jordan retired from Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth with 32 years of service at the Portsmouth site. President and CEO Greg Wilkett and Chief Operating Officer James Miller congratulated Jordan on her retirement.

President and CEO Greg Wilkett and Chief Operating Officer James Miller presented her with a plaque and their congratulations at her retirement party.

“We have a lot of long-time employees who have decided to end their careers by spending more time with family and friends,” Wilkett said. “Debbie was an active volunteer at PORTS during multiple charitable fundraising events as well as those that supported educational initiatives such as Science Bowl or Science Alliance. Her charm and fervor will be greatly missed.”

Debbie started working at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in 1991, as an administrative assistance in the Engineering Department before accepting a position in Property/Fleet Management and working her way to senior contract administrator.

She wrapped up her years of service as a member of the union, working in project support for decontamination and demolition (D&D).

“I feel like my career has come full circle because I’ve worked through full production to D&D and I’m proud of the service and support I gave to the Portsmouth site,” Jordan said.

She is looking forward to an upcoming cruise of Italy and spending time with her friends and family.
