FBP President and CEO Greg Wilkett congratulated and presented each with a commemorative plaque.
“Dean and Dockie have worked a lot of years at the Portsmouth site; nearly 80 if you combine their experience,” Wilkett said. “Their dedication to the Portsmouth Site mission is admirable, and their service is very much appreciated. We wish them a long and healthy retirement.”
Of the 33 years Bussa and Tackett have known each other, 17 were spent working together.
Bussa most recently was a work control coordinator in the X-720 building; he has also worked as a uranium material handler and a supervisor.
“I’m going to chase grandkids and play golf,” Bussa said.
“I’m going to spend more time with my grandchildren while they still think papaw’s cool—I don’t know how long that will last,” Tackett said.
Tackett was a chemical operator in the X-705 building before he retired, but he first worked in the X-344 facility. Tackett plans to spend more time volunteering with the Aladdin Shrine Masons.
