John Albright is in his 48th year at the PORTS site. John is an Operations Manager in Nuclear Operations for Fluor-BWXT (FBP). John started his career as a welder apprentice in 1972 and worked as a welder for 18 years before transitioning to a career in management.
Born and raised in Chillicothe, he is very active in supporting his beloved community. He is the President of the Burton E. Stevenson Endowment for Children Advisory Board, sits on the board of the Assistance House of Ross County, and is on the finance committee at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church. John also volunteers on the FBP scholarship committee.
Family time is very important to John. “I enjoy spending time with my older daughter and her family, who live about two blocks away. My younger daughter lives in Tennessee and I don’t get to see them as often so it’s good when they are able to come up or we can go there.”“I enjoy the challenges,” he said. “With a facility that has older equipment, my maintenance background helps me understand what issues there are and how to correct them.”

Fluor-BWXT was formed to specifically address the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP) Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) Project.
The team brings strong Ohio roots through 70 years of combined project management experience, and 125 years of manufacturing operations both in and outside of the nuclear field.
Combined, our companies have employed thousands of Ohioans across the state and have generated millions of dollars in revenues for Ohio companies and small businesses.
