Amanda Henneberger is an Employee Concerns Specialist for Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth. Amanda has worked at the Portsmouth site for almost 10 years and in her current position for 2 of those years. She resides in Waverly Ohio, Huntington Township, in Ross County with her son near her family, also on family owned property (about 90 acres). In the near future her family will grow with a husband and his two daughters.
“I enjoy traveling - any new adventures, attending local sporting events, especially for my son including basketball, baseball, and archery. I involve myself with our church family, whether it is in ministry work or fellowship. Although I don’t have much time for it, I also enjoy exploring our local parks for camping, walking or hiking,” Amanda said.
“I have recently decided to go back to school to obtain my Masters in Human Resources. I’ve also recently gotten engaged and plan to get married in June 2019.”“I enjoy all of my job, including the challenges, especially having the opportunity to attend several trainings specific to Employee Concerns. Something that I didn’t expect in this role was that with each concern we get to learn about different organizations, processes, and procedures that are in place plant wide. This work also gives me an opportunity to take a step back with each and every concern and try to find the facts while looking at the details from several different perspectives. That alone has given me a different outlook on life overall. An early plan for my life was to find a job that would provide for myself and my family while enjoying every day. Since joining the Employee Concerns Department I have realized that rather than just making my way in life, I want to make this type of work a long term career. I like to get to meet people throughout the site with so many different backgrounds and experiences.”

Fluor-BWXT was formed to specifically address the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Gaseous Diffusion Plant (GDP) Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) Project.
The team brings strong Ohio roots through 70 years of combined project management experience, and 125 years of manufacturing operations both in and outside of the nuclear field.
Combined, our companies have employed thousands of Ohioans across the state and have generated millions of dollars in revenues for Ohio companies and small businesses.
