PIKE COUNTY, Ohio – October 26, 2016 – Attached is the latest update of our quarterly dashboard which summarizes some of the community outreach efforts of Fluor-BWXT Portsmouth, the US Dept. of Energy and the other companies at the DOE Portsmouth Site in Piketon. As you know, we maintain a Community Commitment Plan to support our surrounding communities.
You may notice that due to the austerity measures taken since mid-2016 on the PORTS D&D Project, our grand total shows a decrease in spending compared to the July 2016 edition, but since our last update in July, Fluor-BWXT has helped DOE host Science Alliance with 1,400 students and teachers; raised more than $100,000 during an Employee Giving Campaign and helped Speycide Bourbon Cooperage expand their operations into Jackson County, creating 35 new jobs. Also on this version of the Dashboard we’ve captured the number of mutual aid runs our emergency services personnel make to our neighboring communities.
