Fluor-BWXT Donates $24,000 in Scholarships

PIKE COUNTY, Ohio -- July 10, 2019 -- Fluor-BWXT continues its commitment to science education in Southern Ohio through the annual S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) scholarship program.

This year 12 local students were awarded $2,000 scholarships for the pursuit of S.T.E.M related college degrees.

This year’s recipients include: Clay Minor (Waverly), James Pennington (Eastern), Layne Moorman (Piketon), Mollyanna Grashel, Zac Hammond, Mason Yeagle (Minford), Bailee Day (Valley), Haley Webb, Matthew Humphreys, Emma Matthews (Jackson), Delores Corcoran and  Cody Clark (Zane Trace).

More than 120 students applied for the competitive scholarship program which requires an essay, two letters of recommendation and minimum 3.0 grade point average.

Since 2012, Fluor-BWXT has awarded 97 scholarships worth a total value of $194,000 to students in Pike, Scioto, Ross, and Jackson counties.
